Media and Event Production

I have been producing events and making records since 1998, and I have mixed countless shows for live music and on-air broadcast. I love small venues where you have a lot of control over the environment. I have produced several live streams for Twitch, and am excited by the potential of the emerging art form. I am well versed in Ableton Live, Max/MSP, Protools, Final Cut, Premiere, OBS, Black Magic, and MIDAS consoles.

Live Streaming

Star Service @ OODE24: Bi-coastal Live Stream – May 2020

Performer: Vocals, Lyrics, Production.
Stream: This Twitch stream was a live vocal and electronic instrument performance featuring myself in California and Matthew Zipkin in New York. All music was performed and sequenced live by Matt, all vocals were performed, effected, and looped live by myself. A high quality, low latency audio and video conference was established between our two studios, MIDI clock was established over a VPN. Song position was derived from Matt’s MIDI sequences using a custom protocol implemented in Max/MSP, which generates lyrics graphics and triggers video loops in RemixVideoPRO, both of which were fed to OBS through Syphon. Brendan Draper mixed the broadcast audio from a third location, remotely controlling the audio console by way of remote desktop.

Misson Peak Chamber Singers: Live Stream – March 2020

Stream: This Youtube Live stream was planned and executed with 48 hours of notice, due to concerns that a live audience would risk transmission of COVID-19. With no assistance, I produced and engineered the audio and video for this live stream, including three cameras, multi-tracked audio, and monitoring of the stream. After the concert I added titles and separated the concert into individual authored videos for the choir’s Youtube channel.
